Notes: 1) I have configured several computers to serve as fly traps. As it happens only one computer has received this update as of 4/05/19. The remaining computers received the update a few days later. However the pop up message first appeared on my PC that I use every day on April 19th, and set to display when you login to Windows AND daily at 12:00PM each day.
After using one of the methods in my 2nd article titled: “How to stop Windows 7 End of Support Notifications” not only did the notification message cease to display on my every day PC but never showed / displayed on the other computers. It could be this is because they are members of the same “Workgoup” and the same network.
2) If you have Windows Update configure to “Give me recommended updates the same way I receive important updates”, then KB4493132 will be listed along with other Important updates and it will be have a check mark to Download and install when you run Windows Update. If you do not have the “Give me recommended updates the same way I received important updates” configured then KB4493132 will be listed as an “Optional” update and you select it or if you can hide it (right click on the update) so it will not be installed on your computer.
While a checkbox titled “Do not remind me again” is available, there are workarounds that will make Windows 7 completely stop notifying you about the End of Support.
