Microsoft has made their new Edge browser available for Windows 7 user. Support for Windows 7 expired several months ago but Microsoft has made their latest version of Edge available when you run Windows Update.
Now you will have both IE11 and Edge displayed on your Taskbar and or Desktop.
Note: After Edge has been installed, if you look in the “Notification Area” (right hand side of the taskbar) you may also see a small icon for Edge. This is displayed when Edge is configured (Default setting) to run in the background. I suggest you right click on the Edge icon and remove the checkmark from the “Let Microsoft Edge run in the background”. This will stop Edge from loading when you first start / turn on your computer. You can also click on the ellipsis located in the upper right corner of the Edge browser window and choose “Settings > System” and move the toggle button for the “Continue running background apps when Microsoft Edge is closed” to the left and Restart or Exit Edge.
