How to disable the Meet Now function
The Meet Now button is essentially a Skype fast / easy meeting setup feature displayed in the notification area of the taskbar in Windows 10. If you have no plans on using Meet than you can disable it as follows.

What is Meet used for:
Meet is intended to make it easy for a user to set up video meetings without requiring signups or downloads.

Disabling Microsoft Meet:

Simply right clicking on the Meet icon an selecting the “Hide” option does not disable Meet. To disable Meet, click on Start > Settings > Personalization > Taskbar and scroll down to “Notification area” and click on “Turn system icons on or off”.

If you find that after disabling Meet you need access to Skype then just enter “Skype” (without the quotation marks) in the Search box.

Note: Do not confuse Skype and Skype for Business. Skype for business is being discontinued in the near future and being replaced by Microsoft’s “Teams”
