Took me quite a while to find how to do this, as the problem stems from the fact that the real “Start Menu” is nearly impossible to find. I had to hover the mouse in the extreme left corner well below the Windows logo. Changing the screen resolution made no improvement.
See the White circle, that where the mouse must be before you see the Start Menu opens.
Once the Start Menu pops up then you must click on the ‘Settings’ option to open a group of plain white icons, click on the ‘Power’ icon and choose ‘Shut Down’ from the list.
