There are a lot of rumors and speculation on what changes will be made in Windows 8.2
With a release date in the spring of 2015 and possibly a real Start Menu in the desktop mode; In my opinion the release date needs to be moved up to October of 2014 and the Start Menu (not another false hope icon on the taskbar) definitely need to be part of 8.2 in order for Windows 8.x to ever gain any traction.
Also there is speculation of different versions of 8.2, one for the traditional and still dominate laptop / Desktop users and another for touch screen devices. This is a potentially good idea if implemented as it gives the buyer a choice.
October of 2014 is a better target date as it keeps the 3 year Windows release cycle in tack and is again just in time for the holiday shopping season.
