Imagine if you will, standing in the audience with the stage directly in front of you. Then at a whisper barely audible, you hear the opening words to the John Lenon’s song titled: Imagine. Slowly Paul McCartney walks towards the center of the stage singing the words as he moves. Then much to your surprise Ringo Starr walks out to join Paul, as you listen a smile of happiness comes to your face along with a small tear from your eye.
Now imagine if you will from the left and right of the stage George Harrison and John Lennon simultaneously walk out to join Paul and Ringo. The Fab Four are back, not as they looked 40 years ago but as they would look today. It’s then that your realize that George and John are computer simulations standing along side Paul and Ringo.
But what you don’t know is that all four are computer simulations. The song comes to an end, there is a big loud cheer from the crowd and the four stand there waving. Then the music starts again and this time you hear a totally unheard new song the four are singing. Not only can the computer simulate the four figures standing in front of you but from analyzing past song and voice patterns taken over the years it can now simulate how they would have sounded had all four still been alive and at the top of their vocal form.
Imagine if you will the power of computer simulation only a few years from now and what Buddy Holly, the Big Bopper, Elvis, Roy, Janis, Jimmy and countless others who are no longer with us would think.
